Primrose Bakery Cupcake and Cake Recipes App Reviews

Everything looks good! Needs to have American conversions of the recipes though....

This is a gorgeous app....such wonderful eye candy and I would love to have fun baking these wonderful delicacies....but its kind of hard when Im not accustomed to UK measurements. I even tried getting a conversion chart but it doesnt convert your measurement to U.S. "cups". Im completely frustrated...I guess I just got this app to look at....not fair. Please update with an option for us US people. We spend our hard earned money on your app...the least you can do us accommodate us. Thanks!!!!!

I love this app, I know most people are complaining about the measurements but all you need is a food scale, you dont need a conversion chart. As a person who bakes I actually prefer to weigh my ingredients because it is way more accurate. My only complaint is that some of the ingredients are more common to the UK and have to be ordered or I have to google them to figure out what they are. It would be nice if they offered alternative ingredients for those more exotic to the US. Otherwise I love it and have already used it :)

Nice eye candy. I was surprised that every recipe was in metric measurements, but shouldnt have been. Buy a good kitchen scale and measuring cups with metric as well as American measurements, and youll be fine. Metric is actually more precise. There are some nice tips included to help increase success. Im looking forward to trying some of the recipes! Finally, biscuits are cookies for those unfamiliar with British English. :-)

We used the Food Network app to convert measurements, then discovered that grams are an option on our electronic scale. Use the "plug-in" temperature converter on the Web. Our Classic Cupcakes are beautiful AND delicious - and weve never even tried box mixes! Great app and well worth 4 bucks.

I wish Id read the reviews before I purchased this app. The photography is beautiful and was the primary motivator behind my purchasing the app. Why would a publisher as big as Random House release an app in the US store without metric conversions in the recipes. Unlike some of the reviewers, I dont want to sit down and convert ingredient measurements before I begin to bake. In the next update to this app, include a glossary or definition of ingredients that are native to the UK and not commonly used in the US. Like other reviewers, I had to Google some of the ingredients used in the recipes because I never heard of them (i.e. caster sugar) This app should have been released as a universal app, cookbooks are better suited for the iPad. Since Apple sold more than 25 million iPads around the world there is no reason for this app to be limited to the iPhones smaller screen. This app would be worthy of better reviews had attention been paid to small details necessary for distribution outside the UK. Hopefully somebody at Random House is reading these reviews and an update is forthcoming.

This is the first review I have ever written after downloading thousands of apps. I was so impressed with the app and the recipes, I had to share my raise! Used it today and made the most amazing cupcakes ever!!!!

I love this app and the photography is beautiful but I need the ingredient conversion to the US measurements because I really dont want to search the internet for translators. Please update and put US measurements and ingredient names!!!!

Really nice app. Also like that I dont need to be online to view the recipes and videos. It works and looks beautiful on my ipod touch. Thanks for creating this

I wish they would have put a converter with this app or a chart! But everything else looks delicious!! Ive already used most cupcake recipes :)

I love this app! I really hope I could make more cupcakes! I love everything! Its perfect(Almost). The thing that Im really mad at is, NO RED VELET CUPCAKE RECIPE! You left out the best, the original, THE GREATEST! If you add that recipe, then Ill will rate this a 5!

4.00 and you have to convert everything !! Pain in the butt !! Update with English measurements and Id give it five stars. Seriously ! Do it !!!!

The developers claims that you can save or share recipes is misleading. You can merely "share" via twitter or Facebook the fact that you are making a recipe, or email an instruction-less ingredients list via email. By "saving" they mean that you can add a recipe to a favorites list within the app itself -- there is no ability to even cut and paste text.

Fantastic app! No problem converting the recipes either. For the haters on converting, there are loads of free apps that do this... Its not rocket science!

I want a recipe book just like this. dont need slow annoying videos. its pretty and simple. and has many recipes. great.

Strawberry cake is amazing. I didnt put the berries on top, served on the side. Also, I bake all the time, the only way to go is a kitchen food scale for baking. Even Alton Brown uses a scale. When you start converting cups to metric, you end up with 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons, more trouble than a bowl on a scale. A cup of flour can vary in weight, but 250g of flour is always 250g of flour, I tested it. Many things I will use a measuring cup on, no big deal, but not with baking. Honestly, if you want to bake outside of a box, a scale is the way to go. And with this app, I dont have to convert all the cups to metric.

Waist of money the most basic recipes! A quick google search and you will find better recipes. Theses are a very basic recipes. Couldnt even find one descent recipe!! Disappointing!
